Grammar and Writing
We apply the same methods that generate success in math & science to grammar and writing. We believe that practice with clearly defined objectives produces marked results.
In the real world, good writing is the product of three important principles:
Correct grammar
Clear, direct and concise sentences
Focused revision
Schools currently do not focus on these principles. They rarely review grammar after the early grades. By assigning topics that don't engage students, schools encourage long, convoluted essays; students attempt to fill the page requirements, instead of learning good composition. Further, once the student has completed the writing assignment, they are rarely required revise their work — which is a fundamental skill.
